Who Wants Bacon?

...and more bacon?

Fifty Shades of Bacon

"'Cooked bacon' by flickr user cookbookman is licensed under CC BY 2.0 / Cropped and resized" Not everybody loves bacon. There, it has been said. There is an entire spectrum of feelings about bacon ranging from vampiric need for frequent consumption to outright disgust. Most of us fall somewhere in the middle ground of enjoying bacon at a responsible frequency and finding humor and enjoyment in bacon related things. Everybody has their own personal line when it comes to bacon and those are to be respected.

In this episode of “When Memes Collide”, we find Fifty Shades of Bacon. I’m not sure if I can actually bring myself to buy and read this book. I like bacon. I like things related to bacon. I even own some books about bacon. (Including the excellent Seduced by Bacon: Recipes & Lore About America’s Favorite Indulgence) What rubs me the wrong way about this book is that the authors felt the need to jump on the “fifty shades” train and use it as a gimmick. Bacon stands alone. Bacon IS the gimmick! To be completely honest, I have not purchased or read this book. Amazon has mixed reviews. For the time being, I will pass on this one. It crosses my personal bacon line.

Where is your bacon line?
